Who we are
We are primarily dedicated towards the education and enlightenment of people both inside and outside our chapter. Our class-colleagues should not only be able to explain and defend, but also teach their views for a future beyond the grip of capital and its lackeys. We will work amongst ourselves and with other committees to teach as many as possible a wide variety of subjects pertaining to the class-struggle and the liberation of the working-class.
“As revolutionaries, we don’t have the right to say that we are tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We also know that when the people understand, they cannot but follow us.”
Thomas Sankara

Goals

Teach – We work to broaden the theoretical and historical understanding of socialism and all related to it through the vigorous education of all who are interested.
Defend – We work to strengthen the knowledge and defense of socialism for everyone in the chapter. Everyone should be able to clearly define and explain the position of socialists and our struggle for a brighter future.

Publicize – We work to create materials, events, and other methods of teaching dedicated towards the inward and outward education around diverse, socialist-oriented topics. These materials and events can be anything from zines, classes, book clubs, trivia, and much more!
Build – We work to create a digital and physical library of socialist-oriented articles, books and other materials for any and all members

Subcommittees
Public Outreach
The Public Outreach Subcommittee will be the external education arm of the PEC. This committee will plan and host events which educate and introduce the public to our politics in the hopes of gaining recruits and swaying public sentiment.
The work we accomplish here should demonstrate what it looks like to engage in politics as a community.
Propaganda
The Propaganda Subcommittee is the production and distribution hub of the PEC, creating and/or providing access to physical and digital educational media. Members of this subcommittee design and create zines, maintain the chapter’s library bookshare program, and create educational content for various media (such as social media or Red Thread.)
