Who We Are
Membership Outreach & Engagement Committee is the heart and soul of any DSA chapter. It is a great committee that extroverts and event planners thrive in!
The Membership Outreach & Engagement Committee is responsible for connecting with potential new members and engaging with existing ones within KCDSA chapter. We do this though a variety of ways such as tabling, coalition events, attending rallies, and organizing social activities for the chapter and curious community members.
What we Do
Our most popular event is the monthly Coffee with Comrades. Originally started just after COVID guidelines were lifted, Coffee with Comrades is still going strong today. This is a free public socialist social event. Currently, Coffee with Comrades is held at the Opera House in River Market every first Wednesday of a month.
Regulars and potential new members are welcome!
In addition to Coffee with Comrades, we are invited to do tabling at events around Kansas City. We were invited to many Midwest Boots on the Ground coalition events, KC Pride, and Juneteenth this year! We also hope that many new local events become annual hosts for us in the future.
Other responsibilities of the Membership Outreach & Engagement Committee are booking and reserving spaces for our monthly meetings, events, and the chapter annual potluck and Mayday BBQ, as well as registering us for tabling events around the area.
